PGS 502: Technical writings & Communication skills.
| Course focus: Covers research integrity, plagiarism detection and avoidance, authorship and contributorship norms, data management and sharing, ethical review procedures (IRB/IAEC/IEC), and basics of intellectual property rights and copyright. Teaching approach: Interactive seminars, case-study discussions, ethics workshops, and demonstrations of plagiarism-detection tools and data-management best practices. Real-world scenarios from agricultural research are used to contextualize topics. Assessment: Case analysis reports, reflective essays on ethical dilemmas, quizzes on policy and regulation, and participation in workshops (including use of plagiarism-check software). Learning outcomes: Students should recognize and resolve common ethical issues in research, properly attribute and manage scholarly work, comply with institutional and national ethics requirements, and understand IPR considerations relevant to research outputs. |
