Print Collection

Information Base

Main focus and concern remains on the development of information base and rendering of information services. Efforts were made to enrich the information base both in print and electronic forms. Detail about this enrichment is given under two separate headings as follow:

1.1 Print Resources

A good number of books, journals, theses, reports, etc, were added to the existing collection. A brief about main resources added in print form to the information base from 2020-2025 is given under following two sub-headings:

a. Books in Print Form

Textbooks in print form remains as the most sought after information resource by both UG and PG Students, accordingly preference was given to procurement of textbooks of national and international scope. A substantial improvement in the book collection has thus been recorded taking the total number of Text and Reference Books in the entire Library System to 79,874.The detail in this context is given below.

b. Journals in Print Form

The Library System since its inception has been subscribing to a good number of foreign (+50) and Indian (+70) Journals in print form. This way the Library System has developed a rich and voluminous journal back file collection of 21,707 Issues in print form. The Systems has indigenously developed a smart search and retrieval system of research articles available in these print journals using MS Access and Visual Basic. An Electronic Journal Directory has also been developed to search and retrieve information about each journal issue

Theses in Print Form

A total number of 1879 Theses both Masters’ and PhD submitted by the Students of the University after having successfully completed their degrees from 2021-26 were added to the print collection of Theses. The faculty wise breakup of theses added during the years is presented below:
