Following is a brief of the important assignments carried out and achievements of the SKUAST-K Library Systems.
In order to cater to the demands of library users and immediately carryout some chores and solve some day-to-day problems faced in practice, a few softwares were developed indigenously and put into use. The details of these softwares are given in table 1.

| 2||State Coordination to National Information System in Agricultural Information and Network|
The Central Library exclusively coordinated with ICAR/IASRI in updation of the statistics of the Resource Personnel, Human Resource Development, Laboratory-cum-Technical Resources, Technological Developments, Infrastructure, Research and other academic pursuits existing/ carried out in this University. The data was collected from all the 12 campii of the University, edited, compiled and subsequently uploaded into the database of the project hosted by Central Server at IASRI New Delhi. Such statistics is being maintained through National Information System in Agricultural Education and Network (NISAGENET). Information about almost all facets of academics and research undertaken in the Universitys Main Campus, three Faculties and seven Research Stations has been uploaded to the Central Server at IASRI New Delhi. The Project was funded by the Education Division of ICAR under its AP Cess Fund Scheme with IASRI, New Delhi as its Lead Centre. NISAGENET has been designed and developed on the recommendations of the National Statistical Commission (NSC-2001) and the Department of Secondary & Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India so as to maintain and update the data regularly on parameters related to agricultural education in India. Though the funding has stopped, it is mandatory for the coordinating Universities to keep the database, so developed, current and updated. This online information system enables the users of agricultural information all across the country avail access through Internet through username and password after registration with the local host server at each SAU or DAU. The system is being update regularly by the coordinating units and this will be an on-going phenomenon. Thus a user access finds nascent information about different aspects of the agricultural academics, research and technological developments in India, under following 8 access points on homepage of the system:

| 2.1||Search Engine (AgriKhoj)|
AgriKhoj search engine has been designed to search documents from the NISAGENET system through keywords. A user can access this utility from home page and search the desired information specific to agricultural education and research. Search gives a list of references that match the criteria containing the specified keyword. AgriKhoj uses regularly updated indexes to operate quickly and efficiently. Mission of this search engine is to organize the Indias agricultural education related information and make it universally accessible, thus ensuring its efficient use. For example, if we enter a keyword/ keyterm Research Projects in the search engine, all the Web pages containing the specified keyword/ keyterm will get displayed along with the title and brief description about its contents. On clicking the title, the web page containing related information will be displayed.
The Library brings out various types of publications, which are as under:
1. Compendium of Research Abstracts PG and Doctorate Theses of SKUAST-K, 2007-08, Annual, April 2009.
2. Directory of Serial Publications 2007-08.
3. Catalogue of Current Periodicals: a comprehensive inventory of published articles, Vol 1, Issue 1-4, 2007-08.
